Authentic Jim Morrison Tombstone Rubbing
Condition and Description:
This unique item is in excellent condition.
The first two headstones of Jim Morrison were stolen. This rubbing was done from the current
tombstone. Although his name reads linear on the tombstone
JAMES DOUGLAS MORRISON
The person that did this transfer jumped the paper to complete the top down name then the date
1943 – 1971
We took a lot of pictures of the back to show the proof of the rubbing on the paper.
This is a rare item due to the high security in the Pére-Lachaise cemetery in Paris since the removal of the first two headstones. We’ve only found 2 others come up for auction and have based our starting price from this.
Beautiful yet simple frame to accentuate, but not take away from, the focal point of this piece.
The frame itself measures 14.375 inches x 11.375 inches. The rubbing within the frame matting hold the 11 inch x 7.75 inch rubbing.
