Description
Continental Silver Company, Brooklyn, New York, 1886-1950s.I believe this is a 1st course server for soup and hot appetizers. Likely opulent 1920s restaurant ware with engraved lids and rope edges.
Set includes:
Turntable which holds the hot water. 21 inches diameter (24 1/2 across the wood handles) 4 1/4 inches high.
Soup tureen with lid, approximately 2 quart size.
3 covered dished
3 salt dips with cobalt blue glass liners
3 castors or large pepper shakers
Condition: Very excellent for possibly 100 year old silverplate. One of the pepper shaker lids has copper showing through. The rope edge of one of the covered dishes appears to be missing the silver, a manufacture flaw I believe. Please see the very last picture.
