Roswell Gleason castor caster cruet condiment bottle bottles set butler bell

Unusual 4 bottle Roswell Gleason Victorian castor bottle set.  Used on the dining room table to hold salt, pepper, powdered mustard and vinegar.  Gleason was a silversmith in  Boston in the 1800's and Roswell and Edward's silver plating is popular because of the workmanship and the amount of silver plating used in their production.  The silver plate on this set is still very nice.  The stand measures 12" tall and 7" wide.  It has 4 bottles which are original to the stand.  The bottles are in good condition as well as the silver plated lids.  The carousel moves freely and there is a bell that rings when you depress the bell holder.  There is printing on the stand "Patent reissue Dec. 27, 1859.  There is also the Gleason mark, a warrior holding a staff on the underneath the base.  The bottles measure: shakers 6 1/2" to top of lid, mustard 5 1/4" to top of lid and cruet 8 1/2" to the top of the lid.  Gleason made these in 4, 5 and 6 bottle sets.
