    Description

ROLLING STONES 1968 "BEGGAR'S BANQUET."   Back from their "roll in the hay"  with psychedelia and back into the mainstream.   It was their last recording session and album with the original FIVE Stone's and Brian Jones.
Jones died a somewhat "mysterious"  death just after the album was released.  The history of the Beggar's Banquet recording sessions which took place from March - July of 68 was no mystery at all,  however.  Jones was high and off his rocker during that period.  He showed up when he wanted to unlike the rest of the band.  He brought unusual instruments from Sitars to homemade fabricated percussion instruments,  insisting on using them.  Richards and Jagger basically threw him out repeatedly or tried to.  He was reportedly a major pain in the Stones' collective arses.
Fate or otherwise,  he mysteriously drowned at the time of the release and a celebration.  It's worth reading up on.   Meanwhile,  this award has history as it was finally certified PLATINUM in 1989,  some 21 years later.  It was ordered up by the U.S. label, "London,"  and the U.K. label,  "DECCA."   The award features the U.K. release record label which is much more rare than the U.S. version.  Only about 50 were made for music executives in Great Britain and about 25 were distributed.   None were ever available to the public in the U.S. or abroad.
