Presented in this auction is a VERY unique item. This is an original tour sample of the original Predator 2 Mini Bust, from the Predator PolyStone Collectibles line from Palisades!
As you know, a pre-production sample is USUALLY a special preview sample that the factory sends for review and ultimately it is reviewed by the product development department and the licensor. However, even the items that are produced before the factory stage begins are technically referred to as pre-production samples. That includes original sculpts, patterns, paint masters, tour samples, review samples and so forth.
This Predator 2 Mini Bust is a “tour sample”, which means that it was produced for display at any shows or events we attended over the course of the year. It’s sister piece was sent to China for a factory paint master, while this one stayed behind and was used by marketing and sales to generate interest and sales for the product.
This piece is 6% larger than the product, as the final products are smaller than the first castings because of the shrinkage that occurs in the polystone production process.
This is the ONLY sample of its kind from the production process as the original factory paint master was sent to China and was damaged and sold as-is on eBay.
