This listing is for a POWERSTAT brand Variable Transformer (also known as a VARIAC) made by the Superior Electric Company in Bristol, CT. It is rated for 28 Amps with a 240V single phase input, and will give you 0 to 280V of output. This heavy duty variable transformer is very reliable, it is one of two spares we have had for a long time (we have 5 of them and rarely use more than two) and since we haven't found the need to use it, we are putting this beautiful piece of equipment up

sale. Please note that it has a shield on the top to prevent objects from falling into it and has NEMA L6-30 plug and outlet on cords that are each 10 gauge copper wire and approximately 4-1/2 foot long for the input cord and approximately 6 feet long for the outlet cord.
