OUTSTANDING MERIDEN SILVER PLATE CO TILT MIRROR REPOUSSE DESIGN 1870’S

We are offering for your consideration an exceptional, Silver Plated Dresser or Shaving Mirror manufactured by the Meriden Silver Plate Company in the 1870’s. The beveled glass mirror measures 14.25 inches high and 8 inches wide and 9 inches long at the mirrored part. The bottom of the pedestal base measures 4 inches square. The tilt mirror is decorated in a repousse design of various scrolls and beaded designs. A tall cartouche with the same design extends from the top. The base is designed in cartouches and scrolls. The mirror tilts forward and back to allow viewing from many angles. The silver plating has a couple of small areas of polishing marks but there is no copper showing through. The mirror has speckled wear around the edges. Any dark spots are from background glare. An outstanding piece to add a touch of Victorian elegance to your dresser or bathroom vanity.
