    Description

    Vintage Meriden B Company 1849 Cake Stand or Holder for Calling Cards of Visitors. This piece is approximately 9.25” in height to the stand and 16.5” to the top of the handle. Stand is approximately 9.75” square. There was a note with this piece that it was a holder for calling cards when a visitor came to your house, but I am not sure. The base going up to the stand is very detailed as is the handle and edging around the stand. There is a scroll design on the stand. The stand is not perfectly level but there are no breaks or cracks. The stand has a very bright glossy silver finish and it almost looks like it was coated. A very unique piece showing great craftsmanship. Please review all photos and let me know if you have any questions.
