On offer here is this quite stunning and very large example of Art Pottery by the Kunstaardewerkfabriek St. Lukas - Utrecht, the Netherlands.
This large and impressive piece has a teal/blue/green base color which has been covered with an outer lustre glaze in brilliant transparent gold.
The backstamp to the base incorporates the St. Lukas printed mark consistent with the period, as well as the shape number of #31 and the code 'K' denoting the glaze type. Below this, near the rim of the base is an incised triangle mark.
Condition Report
This magnificent piece of Dutch Art Pottery has clearly been treasured for many years, such that other than reasonable, barely visible signs of use, one might reasonably describe it as
near mint
.
There are no cracks, losses or repairs to report.
10¼" (27 cm) high x 8¼" (21 cm) diameter.
