    Description

This item was probably an advertising piece for the National Pole Co. of Escanaba, Mi.  Because of it's weight, it's 1.25 lbs., I assume it was used as a paperweight.   It's a freight train car loaded with timber/ poles.  One end says "poles" on the base, the other end says "ties".  Both long sides of the base say "National Pole Co.".  The top of the base says "made by Golden Novelty Co., Chicago.  I'm not sure how old this item is  but the other side of the base says " Copyright 1901".  This train car stands approx. 2.25" tall.  The base is approx. 2" x 5.50".  Not sure what metal this is made out of, but it doesn't hold a magnet.  Top of freight train has a dent with small hole in it, see photo 5.  Two corners on the same side have holes, see photos 7 and 8.  The base also has a couple small cracks in it, see photos 6 and 7.
A great railroad advertising piece with some local historic value.  Please check photos to verify condition.  Sorry, I do not ship outside U.S.A. at this time.
