6 VINTAGE HOTEL SHOE CLEANING CLOTHS
These six shoe cleaning cloths must have been picked up by my great grandfather (probably in the 1930’s?) who travelled a lot for business.
They all show use that makes them look a little dingy, but they are in good condition with no rips or stains. There are some creases from where they were folded in storage. (Please see photo.)
1.
HOTEL FORT PITTS, in Pittsburgh.
About 7” x 5” but is actually a bag and not just a cloth.
Fabric
hanging loop at top right corner.
2.
HOTEL DYCKMAN in Minneapolis. About 14 ½” x 4”. “Lacy” fabric hanging loop at top.
3.
HOTEL CONANT in Omaha.
About 8” x 4 ½”.
Fabric hanging loop at top.
4.
U.S. GRANT HOTEL in Matoon, Illinois.
About 14” x 3 ½”.
Not actually a cloth but some kind of paper and made by Deltashine in Pasadena, California.
Hole at top to hand up.
Creased (see photo).
5.
And 6. HOLIDAY INN no city.
These two buffers are also paper and not cloth.
They measure about 4” x 14 ½” and have a hole at the top for hanging.
One has a few speckles that look like rust drops.
I try to describe my items fairly and honestly to the best of my ability but please keep in mind that I’m no expert. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions at all about them.
