For sale is an antique Victorian silver plate on brass adjustable dish cross
with no maker's mark.  Standing on four cast feet and plain design with a shell
motif connected to a central ring.
A dish cross was used in the 18th and 19th Century to place tureens or
serving dishes on.  The item for sale is a very functional survivor as few dish
crosses that exist today are usually worn and / or damaged beyond repair.
Dimensions: 13-3/4" overall by 3" high (fully extended); 13-3/4" long by 3"
    high (closed).
NOTE: THE BOWL PICTURED IS 9-3/4" IN DIAMETER, AND
IS ONLY A PROP.  IT IS NOT PART OF THIS LISTING AND IS NOT FOR SALE
    .
Condition: very nice and usable for an item over 100 years old.  Hand cleaned
    with
    HANK'S SILVERPLATE RECIPE
(yes we sell that to - check our other listings),
adjusted the sliding mechanisms so all four feet slide smoothly along the square
bars that form the cross.  Works equally as well with a round or oval dish.
No maker's marks found and nothing engraved.
We are selling this used item as pictured and as / is so please read the
description and review all the photos and email if questions remain
before buying or making an offer.
