    Antique Middletown Silver Plate Spoon Holder and Covered Sugar
    This antique silver plate spoon holder and covered covered sugar was made by Middletown Plate Company of Middletown, Connecticut, as marked on the bottom. Also the markings include "Triple Plate" and the number "70." The handsome handles add character to the piece. One of the individual spoon holders cannot be used. The lid has an applied grape and grape leaf topper with finial. Without the lid this piece, with its trophy shape, makes a great container for greens and flowers. The spoon holder is to be used with its original patina. The distance from handle to to handle is 9 inches. The diameter of the opening is 4 3/8 inches. The height is 8.5 inches to the top of the finial.
