    Description

    Made by Petrus Regout & Co in Maastricht, Holland, this antique green salad/bread/desert plate is in the PA Jong pattern.  The company Petrus Regout & Co. started using the image of the Royal Sphinx as their logo in 1879 and in 1899 they changed their name to De Sphinx, so this plate's age is between 122 and 142 years old, and still wearing her age quite well.  It has only a few small utensil marks, indicating that it has been lovingly used.  The underside has some marks made in the manufacturing process and a few flea-bit marks.
    Maker's mark says:  Petrus Regout & Co., Maastricht, Pa Jong, Made in Holland. 9VIIII. Above this is an image of the Royal Sphinx.
